The Mine Au Breton Historical Society is located in Potosi, Washington County, Missouri.
The Society was organized in 1963 during the celebration of Potosi's Bicentennial with the following Articles of Incorporation.
"To acquire, improve and maintain lands and buildings suitable for housing a historical museum, to acquire, hold and maintain, by gift, purchase or otherwise, data, documents, instruments and chattels, having a historical interest or significance; to do all things in connection with the study and preservation of history and the operation of a historical society."
The Society was reorganized in 1981 to continue the preservation of history and the heritage that the Bicentennial brought to focus.
The Society meets at 7PM the second Tuesday of every month (except December) at the Washington County Library meeting rooms. Anyone with an interest in history is welcome, and encouraged, to attend.
